It’s that magical time of year again — when planner lovers everywhere start dreaming about crisp new pages, fresh pens, and the possibilities that a brand-new year brings. For the past two months, I’ve been knee-deep in planner decisions (and maybe a few too many cups of coffee ☕). I finally chose my 2026 planners, and now it’s time for the fun part — my book journal lineup!

📚 Digital or Analog? Why Not Both?

I’ve always loved the creative freedom that comes with book journaling. Some days I crave the tactile joy of cutting, gluing, and doodling in my analog journal. Other days, I want the simplicity of dragging digital stickers in Goodnotes or tracking my reading in Notion and Google Sheets.

But let’s be honest — juggling multiple platforms can get a little overwhelming. Between my reading tracker here and my notes over there, it sometimes feels like my bookish thoughts are scattered across the internet.

So for 2026, I’ve decided to combine the best of both worlds. I’ll be keeping a digital book journal for quick notes, inspiration boards, and reading logs — and an analog junk journal for those slow, cozy afternoons when I want to get crafty.

The digital version will help me capture my ideas on the go, while my analog journal will let me bring them to life — messy ink smudges and all. Together, they’ll create a more mindful, happy journaling experience.

🖋️ What’s Next

Now that I’ve settled on my journaling style, I’m starting to design my 2026 digital book journal — and once it’s finished, I’ll share it here for anyone who wants to use it too!

The only problem? I’m so ready to start my analog journaling now, lol. I might just go ahead and dedicate the first few pages to my Top 5 Books of 2025 — a fun little tradition I think I’ll keep going every year.

Because really, there’s no wrong time to start celebrating the stories we love. 💕
